Description

Orphion is a musical instrument with a unique sound between string instrument and percussion. Everyone can play expressive, wonderful sounds and easy or virtuosic melodies on it just by moving fingers on virtual pads.

Yes ... I've tried it. Like Geo, SoundWiz, and MorphWiz, it's building on the unique qualities that a tablet-based, multi-touch interface can offer. The app itself has a lot of potential, not the least of which is that the developer is taking feedback seriously. Much needed features would be user-created scales and user-based patches that would take this even further. MIDI IN/OUT would be great (and I think Bastus said something about working on that). The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because I don't feel it's quite ready for serious performance use the way the likes of the three above and others. That said, this is definitely one worth downloading and keeping around for updates — I think it's gonna grow up to be a great tool!

My impression is almost exactly the same as Dennis' below. It's a lot of fun as-is with a lot of potential for growth. Would love to be able to play Animoog from this UI.
